Unai Emery is set to be announced as Arsenal boss this week and Gooners are doing their homework on their prospective new manager. Mikel Arteta had been the favourite to replace Arsene Wenger but the Arsenal board voted unanimously against the Spaniard, preferring the experience of Emery.
The 46-year-old is best known for winning three consecutive Europa League titles with Sevilla but he picked up an unfavourable tag at Paris Saint-Germain after the Ligue 1 giants threw away a 4-0 first leg aggreagate score on one incredible night at the Camp Nou. Arsenal fans are understandably intrigued about their new boss and Gooners were especially excited when they discovered Emery’s past remarks on old enemy Jose Mourinho.
Emery was Valencia boss for four years and came up against Mourinho on four occasions. After Real Madrid’s 1-0 win against Valencia at the Bernabeu in 2010, Mourinho criticised the referee by waving a piece of paper at the officials with ’13 mistakes’ written on it. Emery didn’t take kindly to Mourinho’s actions and labelled the Special One a ‘crybaby’ after the game.
‘Mourinho’s stance is that of a crybaby,’ said Emery. ‘We have reasons to draw up a list with errors and to make a public complaint for every time we have been adversely affected, but we don’t.’
Apart from the fact that Unai Emery has a track record of winning trophies, I heard he also dislike Mourinho
Think I love the guy already.

Unai Emery once called Jose Mourinho a "crybaby"
That should be enough for Emery to get the Arsenal job.

How do we reckon the interviewing process went?
Gazidis: “So to begin with, do you hate Mourinho?”
Emery: “Yes, I fucking despise that crybaby”
Gazidis: “You’re hired!”

“Unai Emery is demanding, studious and brave, the new Arsenal boss has a close friendship with Pep Guardiola but no time for Jose Mourinho”…….. I love him already @Arsenal

Arsenal fans, understandably, loved it.
Wenger’s departure is unlikely to dull the hatred that Arsenal supporters have for Mourinho. The Portuguese boss clashed with Wenger numerous times over the years but attempted to heal his relationship with the Frenchman when he announced his intention to step down at the Emirates.
