Czech Republic side Viktoria Plzen have been crowned the best football team in Europe ahead of clubs such as Barcelona or Manchester City who may get all of the attention in their respective leagues.

Barcelona currently lead La Liga by nine points over Atletico Madrid, City and Paris Saint-Germain are 15 and nine points in front in their respective leagues but Viktoria Plzen has the best winning percentage in Europe, having won 15 of their 16 matches so far in the Czech league.

The coach Pavel Vrba led side who average 2.9 points per match and lead the table by 14 points ahead of second-placed Slavia Prague can boast, along with City, Barcelona and Porto, of being the only teams in Europe yet to taste defeat in the league this season.

Their only misstep thus far occurred in the last game when they drew 0-0 against Teplice. The Czech side qualified for the Europa League Round of 32 as group winners, and currently have a better winning percentage and points per game average than the Blaugrana, PSG, Napoli and Bayern Munich. The only club that can match them at this moment with regard to points per game is Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, also with 2.9.

With 22 games played so far, City have a win in 91 percent of their matches and a draw in nine percent – taking 62 out of a possible 66 points.

Barcelona Ernesto Valverde are yet to taste defeat either, claiming victory in 83 percent of their matches in LaLiga, and an average of 2.7 points per game.

PSG and Porto, on the other hand, can flaunt the same winning percentage as Barcelona while another great surprise (based on points achieved per game) comes in the Serbian league thanks to Red Star Belgrade. With victory in 82 percent of their matches and 2.6 points per game, they have a better figure than Juventus, Bayern or Atletico.

Gibraltar’s Lincoln Red Imps, have been equally impressive winning all nine of their matches, although league play doesn’t resume there until February.
