TATAFO NEWS: Violent at Nigerian Prostitutes Election Ground

There was chaos after the 2015 election of the National Association of Nigerian Prostitutes (NANP) on Sunday, August 9.

According to a Daily Post report, the election took place at a popular hangout along Lasu-Iba road on Saturday.

Violence erupted after the former secretary of the association, Jessica Elvis, was declared winner of the keenly contested election.

The 2015 electoral committee chairman, Franca ‘Top Up’ Chikam, had announced Elvis as the winner, after she polled 300 votes to defeat the incumbent, Madam Felix Efoyo, who garnered 153 votes and also Nasarawa state coordinator, Tamar Tion who got 63 votes.

But Efoyo objected and demanded a fresh election insisting that the result was rigged.

As the argument raged on, a fight broke out. In the process, one of the commercial sex workers believed to be loyal to Efoyo broke a bottle and stabbed another of her colleagues.

Last week, about 50 members of the Nigeria Association of Prostitutes went to the Ogun state branch of the Nigerian Union of Journalists’ press centre in Abeokuta, following the death of their colleague. They demanded that the police help find their colleague’s killer, asking for protection for their other members.
