What Anthony Martial Allegedly Said When He Was Substituted Against Arsenal
Despite being one of the best players on the pitch, notching an incredible assist for Jesse Lingard’s first half goal and being an overall threat on the wing, Anthony Martial was taken off in the 67th minute.
In the opening months of the season, Martial has rarely completed a 90 minute game, but it seems this decision in particular from manager Jose Mourinho may have just tipped him over the edge.
When his number popped up on the electronic board, you could immediately sense frustration and disappointment from the 21-year-old.
Many have suggested that Martial called Jose Mourinho a “puta” as he walked off the pitch.
As he muttered his way onto the substitutes bench, Twitter picked up on his mood and started talking about his angry reaction:
Whatever Martial muttered as he came off there, it didn't look pretty. Not happy at all despite the little hand-slap with Mourinho #arsmun

There was a worry that Jose Mourinho would set his team up too defensively away against Arsenal but instead the Red Devils stormed into an early 2-0 lead.
After Antonio Valencia had scored to put Mourinho’s side 1-0 up it was the turn of Jesse Lingard to add the second and pile on the misery for Arsene Wenger.
It was a good strike from the Englishman but it was all down to the little flick from French forward Anthony Martial and people were loving the assist:
What a filthy assist by Martial, that was absolutely class.
