Brazilian midfielder, Willian has revealed his conversation with Hull City’s David Meyler that made the player miss his spot-kick against Chelsea in the FA Cup tie on Friday.
Chelsea scored four goals before the break against Hull at Stamford Bridge to reach the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
Meyler had a chance to pull a goal back for the visitors with a penalty after half-time but the Republic of Ireland international had his penalty saved by Chelsea keeper, Willy Caballero.
Willian was captured getting in Meyler’s face before he missed the penalty and the Brazilian revealed what was said during their conversation.
He told beIN SPORTS, “I told him ‘no pressure, no pressure!’
“I told him ‘you’re going to lose’ and ‘you’re gonna make a mistake’ and he said ‘shut up, shut up!’”
The Brazilian international further highlighted the importance of Chelsea gaining some much-need momentum ahead of their Champions League clash with Barcelona next week.
He added, “I think in football always you have to improve and we did that and in these two weeks we worked hard, tried to improve ourselves.
“It’s important to get back to winning and now we have the big game on Tuesday.”
