CAF Confederation Cup: Rivers United forward, Nwagua relishes win at Motema Pembe

Rivers United forward, Nyima Nwagua praised his teammates for their incredible effort in the away win against Daring Club Motema Pembe of Congo Democratic Republic.

The Nigerian champions edged the contest 1-0 despite playing with 10-men for the entire second half.

Rivers United were reduced to 10-men late in the first half after left-back Ebube Duru was sent off for a second bookable offence.

Paul Acquah fired home the winning goal on 52 minutes.

Nwagua took to social media to celebrate the victory.

“Incredible mentality from the team.

“I want to thank the Nigerian community for the support. Victory is sweet,” the former Kano Pillars striker wrote on his Twitter handle.
