Former Chelsea defender, Jason Cundy has noted that Arsenal could not have defeated Crystal Palace in their Premier League game on Friday but for Patrick Vieira’s men’s lack of quality.

Arsenal were able to run away with a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace and started the season on a very bright note.

But the Chelsea legend believes the Gunners managed to overcome Patrick Vieira’s men due to their lack of firepower up front.

According to him, Crystal Palace need a striker in form of legendary Arsenal striker Ian Wright.

“They had no real quality,” Cundy told talkSPORT. “There will be tougher evenings’ work for Arsenal.”

He said that the problem of lack of strike force has lingered in the club without a solution.

He said that Mikel Arteta’s side would’ve been in trouble if Palace had a clinical striker on Friday night.

“That’s the sort of cutting edge they lack. Between the two goals, Arsenal didn’t do a great deal,” he added.
