EUROPA: Sarri re-considers his decision about Hazard

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has re-considered his decision to include Eden Hazard in his squad against BATE Borisov.

Hazard secured a back injury against Manchester United after a challenge from Manchester United defender Ashley Young but he was involved against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

It was suggested that Sarri would rest the Belgian attacker against the Belarus team.

Chelsea has qualified for the next round and Sarri’s decision to include him in the squad came a shock to many.

When asked about Hazard’s fitness before to Chelsea game against Crystal Palace, Sarri told Sky Sports: ‘I spoke with the doctor yesterday and he said he is doing better but he’s not ready to play for 90 minutes.

‘So we decided altogether for the bench.

‘I think it’s very important for us to have him on the bench for the last 30-35 minutes, if necessary.’

Olivier Giroud is expected to feature against BATE Borisov after a leg injury kept the striker out of Chelsea’s victories over Derby and Palace.

Sarri’s men host Everton at Stamford Bridge this weekend.
