Fresh outbreak of Cholera has been reported in one out of the sixteen local government councils of Taraba State.
The outbreak, as gathered by DAILY POST, occurred on Thursday in Jen-Ardido community of Karim-Lamido Local Government Council.
Confirming the report, the council chairman, Markus Hamidu, also admitted that no fewer than 13 victims of the outbreak have as well been hospitalized.
Piqued by the development, he agreed had led to the death of one person, efforts, as at the time of filing this report, he said, have been put in place to revive those already infested with the disease.
An official of the state ministry of health who also admitted that there is an outbreak of the epidemic in the council, also noted that several cases of cholera have been recorded in different parts of the state.
The outbreak caame barely three months after the outbreak of the disease in Tella village of Gassol Local Government Council, the situation which led to several deaths and scores hospitalized.
The health official who would not want his name made public, urged the people of the council and Tarabans at large to be mindfully about the types of foods water as well as fruits they consume.
While sympathizing with the family of the deceased, the causes of the outbreak, as at the time of filing this report, he said have not been confirmed.
The leadership of the council, he said has put in place mechanisms that would herald the presence of health experts from the state capital to the area.
Some persons from the affected community who spoke with DAILY POST, urged the government to fashion out means of vacillating the people against the epidemic.
Citing the ongoing vaccination exercise on meseale, yellow fever and meningitis, they believed that with proper plans, same attentions can as well be geared towards cholera.
