A sad incident occurred this evening in Ekiti state as policemen attached to Ekiti First Lady, Bisi Adeleye-Fayemi’s convoy allegedly opened fire on protesting students of Federal University, Oye Ekiti (FUOYE).
The students reportedly engaged in a peaceful protest over poor power supply in the community. The protest however went sour after policemen attached to Ekiti First Lady’s convoy allegedly opened fire on them, killing two students.
The irate students in turn allegedly attacked one of the policemen, setting the office of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company and a police van ablaze. Here are photos and videos from the scene below;
