Gunmen abduct traditional ruler in Kaduna

Gunmen have abducted Chief Joshua Ahmadu, District Head of Chawai, in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

President of Chawai Development Association (CDA), Abel Adamu confirmed the kidnap on Wednesday.

A statement by the Public Relations Officer, Raphael Joshua said Ahmadu was seized by assailants who invaded his house.

They stormed the traditional ruler’s residence at Zambina around 9:30 p.m. and took him away.

Adamu noted that residents were working hard to ensure that the captive was released unhurt.

Security agencies on special duty in the chiefdom have been informed of the ancient, he confirmed.

The statement challenged youths in the chiefdom to take communal security seriously to avert attacks.

“The youths, who ought to be the force to guarantee security, are not ready to work with security personnel to secure the land,” Adamu said.
