Manchester City hosted Spanish giants and UEFA Champions League Favourites, Real Madrid at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, England. Pep Guardiola’s men went up with a good start by going 2-0 ahead with goals from Kevin De’Bruyne and in-form striker Gabriel Jesus and in a space of 11 minutes before prolific goal machine Karim Benzema pulled one back for Ancelotti’s men before half time.
On beginning the second half, City went ahead again in the 53rd minute through Phil Foden before Vinicius Junior pulled another one back. Guardiola’s men were again ahead 4-2 through Benardo Silva and just when we thought that was it, Madrid got a penalty which once again Karim Benzema came forward to deliver a sublime penalty to end the game at 4-3 giving city a one goal advantage to take to the Benabaeu next week.
