The Chairman of the Osun Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ward congress committee, Senator Oker Jev, has assured party members of the provision of a level playing field as the exercise progresses.
The ward congress committee chairman made this known at the party state secretariat on Saturday after a meeting with party stakeholders.
Jev, while addressing journalists at the end of the meeting, explained that the party has taken measures to encourage stakeholders to work together towards ensuring a victorious outing in the 2022 gubernatorial election in the state.
On the issue of factions within the party in the state, Jev disclosed that stakeholders from the two sides met with members of the committee earlier, adding that he told them he will only attend to them as a unified body.
In his words, “That’s the meeting we have done now and we have agreed on what to do. I will be disappointed if after now a group is saying anything contrary.
“All stakeholders must work together towards a victorious outing in next year’s governorship election.”
DAILY POST had reported that the PDP is holding its nationwide ward congress today to elect their ward executives ahead of the local, state congresses and national convention slated for November, 2021.
