Football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, has revealed that Arsenal defender Nuno Tavares is set to join Ligue 1 club Olympique Marseille on loan.

Romano said Tavares would undergo a medical test on Friday in a bid to join Marseille this summer.

In a tweet via his Twitter handle on Thursday, Romano said, “Nuno Tavares’ set to join Olympique Marseille, medical tests on Friday. Arsenal and OM have full agreement on loan deal, no buy option included.

“Final check to the contracts in the afternoon then it will be signed. Here we go.”

Tavares joined Arsenal from Benfica for a sum of £7 million last summer.

The 22-year-old went on to make 28 appearances across all competitions for Mikel Arteta’s side last season, scoring three goals.
