Flying Eagles defender, Abel Ogwuche has said the team is desperate to secure third position at the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
Ogwuche was in action in the Ladan Bosso side’s 1-0 semi-final defeat to the Young Scorpions of Gambia on Monday night.
That defeat agonizingly ended the Flying Eagles’ hopes of winning a record-extending eighth title.
Ogwuche and his teammates will battle Tunisia for the bronze medal at the Cairo International Stadium on Friday (today).
The centre-back stated that the Flying Eagles would be playing to secure a podium finish.
“We are a hundred percent prepared to take something back to Nigeria,” Ogwuche told a press conference.
“We lost the last game but in football there can only be three outcomes.”
