Nigeria’s Flying Eagles defeated EFCC Football Club 2-1 in a keenly contested friendly at the FIFA Gold Project Practice Pitch, Abuja on Saturday morning.
Both teams failed to register a goal in the first half despite creating good scoring opportunities.
EFCC took a well-deserved lead through the impressive Moshood Danjuma in the 72nd minute.
The Flying Eagles battled back immediately with red-hot forward, Ibrahim Yahaya equalising within a minute.
Haliru Sarki netted the winner for the Flying Eagles in the 82nd minute.
Ladan Bosso’s side has now registered 18 goals and conceded twice in four friendly outings since they resume camping in Abuja ahead of the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations last week.
They will now shift attention to their next two friendlies against Zambia.
The first friendly will hold on Friday, January 27, while the second is billed for Monday, January 30.
