Niger State Police has arrested twenty-eight youths in the onslaught against youth restiveness, thuggery and other acts of criminality in Minna metropolis.
The state Commissioner of Police, CP Monday Bala Kuryas said this in a press statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, PRO DSP Wasiu Abiodun in Minna.
Recall that on Monday, the command arrested and paraded about thirty-two suspects involved in a clash that claimed the lives of a police officer and a businessman last week Friday in Minna.
Kuryas, however, said explained a joint team of security personnel launched an aggressive raid and a house to house search, leading to the arrest of the 28 more persons in Unguwar-Biri, Bosso local government area of the state.
The CP said,” a joint task force comprised of the Police, Military, DSS, NSCDC and Vigilantes launched an aggressive raid and a house to house search on 25/01/2022 at about 0100hrs at Unguwar-Biri community area of Bosso LGA and arrested twenty-eight (28) additional suspects”.
The statement said the operation will be continuous to fish out all the undesirable elements and street urchins until the metropolis is totally rid of criminals.
The items recovered from the suspects include ten (10) arrows, seven (7) cutlasses, eight (8) knives, nine (9) sticks, five (5) shisha pipes, one (1) woodcutter, one (1) axe, one (1) iron rod, one (1) iron cutter, one (1) scissors, one (1) fry wheel, two (2) screw-drivers, thirteen (13) handsets, seventeen (17) sachets and four (4) nylon of Indian-hemp, assorted charms and some clothes and slippers.
The Commissioner then warned all trouble makers to stop or be ready to face the full wrath of the law.
“All suspects are under investigation in SCID, Minna and will also be arraigned in court for prosecution as soon investigations are concluded,” he said.
