Zamfara Stalemate Will Be Resolved Before Elections – Buhari Assures Nigerians
President Mohammedu Buhari has said the crisis surrounding the candidates of the All Progressives Congress in Zamfara State will be resolved before the elections.
The presidential and National Assembly elections are scheduled to hold on Saturday while the governorship and state assembly elections would follow on March 2.
Following conflicting court judgements, INEC had excluded Zamfara APC from fielding candidates for the governorship as well as national and state assemblies.
Addressing a mammoth crowd of party faithful in Gusau, yesterday, as part of his campaign tour to states, Buhari said crises had rocked the party in about eight states, adding that some of them were pending in courts.
He, however, expressed optimism that the Zamfara issue would be resolved before the elections.
Buhari who did not speak about the state of security particularly in Zamfara State, said he would be fair and just to all as promised when he took oath of office in 2015, adding that the cardinal objectives of his administration remained securing the nation, improving the economy and fighting corruption.
